Made-to-measure pattern blocks

Made to measure. Graded to scale.

Enter real measurements, set the ease and proportions, and the studio drafts the full pattern with seam allowances, notches and grainlines. Then it grades your edited block into a complete size run, ready for a home printer, a copy shop or the cutting room.

Method

From the tape measure to the cutting table

No install and no CAD training. The studio runs in your browser and your measurements stay on your device.

i.

Measure

Start from a standard size and height, then overwrite with your client's measurements. Save each client as a profile.

ii.

Draft

Adjust ease, dropped shoulder, cap height or waist suppression. Fit checks compare armhole to sleeve cap, side seams and shoulders as you type.

iii.

Grade and export

Grade your edited block into a size run with your own increments. Print tiled A4 or A3, send A0 to a copy shop, or export DXF for CAD.

The blocks

Five foundations of a menswear wardrobe

Every plate below is drafted live in your browser for size 50, by the same engine that runs the studio.

Fit

Engineered, not generated.

Patterns that only look right fail on the body: seams that don't match in length, distorted armholes, missing notches. The studio measures every seam it draws and flags what is out of range before you cut a toile.

Hover any seam on the drawing to read its length. Edit a measurement and every check updates at once.

Questions

Before you cut

Which measurements does it use?

Chest, waist, seat and neck, nape to waist, scye depth, across back and across chest, shoulder and arm length, bicep and wrist, and for trousers outside leg and body rise. Each block only uses what it needs. The rest are greyed out.

Can I cut straight into good fabric?

These are foundation blocks. Sew a toile in calico first, check the fit, then save the corrected measurements to the client's profile.

Where are my measurements stored?

In your browser only. Nothing is sent to a server. Save a project file to move your work to another computer.

Can I use the patterns commercially?

Yes. Patterns you draft in the studio are yours to sew from and sell.

How do I print at the right size?

Set the print scale to 100% and turn off fit to page. Then measure the test square on page one. It must be exactly 10 × 10 cm.
